The questions for the practitioners involved
First of all, since I'm designing environments for games, I think I'm looking for someone to consult on that needs to be both design, environment and fiction.
The first one I want to interview is the film environment designer. I think the movie scenes will be more realistic, so they need to examine more realistic environmental factors, which is a great inspiration for me. I want to know how they decide the specific context of the scene design, how they choose some scenes in reality to blend, and how they better integrate the real scene and the fictional environment.
I will ask a few questions from the perspective of environmental ideas and creativity:
1. Sources of inspiration: What do you usually get inspiration from when designing a movie set? How to cultivate the ability to find inspiration for students studying scene design?
2. Theme fit: How to ensure that the design of the movie set fits perfectly with the theme and style of the film?
3. In the limited shooting space, how to cleverly carry out the scene layout to create rich visual effects and reasonable action paths? What are the implications for designing the spatial layout of the learning scene?
4. How do different scene environments in the film, such as indoor, outdoor, fantasy space, etc., create a unique atmosphere through spatial layout? How to use this method in learning scene design to create different learning atmosphere.
5. What are the principles and ideas for color matching in movie scenes? How color affects people's emotions and attention in environmental design.
6. Use of light and shadow: Light and shadow play an important role in shaping characters and promoting plots in movie scenes. How do you use light and shadow to enhance the expression of scenes? Learn how to use light and shadow to highlight key points in scene design.
For the second person, I will find an interior designer to interview. I think the interior space layout is also very important in scene design.
I would ask the following questions:
1. In interior design, how to divide the space according to the different use functions?"
2. For smaller Spaces, what are some clever ways to improve space utilization without compromising the experience?
3. How to choose the interior color scheme to create a comfortable, harmonious and functional atmosphere? What effect do different colors have on people's psychology in shaping the scene?"
4. What are the characteristics of different materials in terms of texture, durability and visual effects? Learn how to choose the right material according to the needs in the scene design.
Third, I think the scene design should not only look at the whole but also look at the details, even a small decoration should be designed with a basis, so the third person I want to interview the prop master.
I would ask the following questions:
1. In movies or plays, on what basis do you choose props?
2. How to ensure that the props fit the style and atmosphere of the scene? What are the different points of choice for learning scenarios with different themes, such as history, science, art, etc.?
3. Functional design: How to balance decoration and functionality when designing props? Learn how the props in the scene can be designed to better serve the game or movie, such as facilitating interaction, guiding thinking, etc.
4. Guide and hint: Props in movies often play a role in guiding the audience and suggesting the plot. Learn how props play a similar role in environmental design.
5. The overall effect of blending with the scene: How do props work with other elements in the scene, such as lighting, color, etc., to achieve the best overall effect?
6. In learning scene design, what details should be paid attention to to enhance the realism and attractiveness of the scene?
Finally, I will interview a veteran game scene designer and ask some questions that are more relevant to my design and profession:
1. How do you determine the overall atmosphere and tone of the game scene? How to choose the scene according to the script of the game is realistic or abstract?
2. Basic concepts: "In scene design, how to accurately understand the concept of user needs and integrate them into the design?"
3. Use of special effects: How are special effects scenes made in the game? In learning scene design, what special effects techniques can be used to enhance the fun and interaction of the scene?
4. Technical challenges: What were the biggest technical challenges encountered during the production of the game scene? How did you overcome it?
5. Method Tips: "When designing a scene, what are some effective ways to make it more engaging and interactive?"
6. Technology and tools: "What emerging technologies are suitable for application in learning scenario design, and what are their advantages?"
7. Tool use: "What design tools do you commonly use in scene design, and what skills do you have?"
8. Practical experience: "In your practice, what kind of difficult problems have you encountered, and how did you solve them?"
9. Case studies: "Can you share some successful learning scenario design cases and analyze the key to their success?"
10. Industry trends: "What do you see as the future of game scene design?"
