Reflections on the use of AI

In the process of completing the concept painting of the scene design, I encountered some problems, such as not being able to better combine the actual scene with the scene I imagined through the description in the book; For example, there are some descriptions that don't have real cases that I can't imagine out of thin air. So, on top of that, I used AI to draw for inspiration. So far, I've used AI painting in these areas:

In this paragraph, the real-life Yadan landscape is depicted, but the author adds that although we are in a desert area, the further we go inside, the more we will see a dense forest like a swimming pool. The original text of the book reads:

"As soon as we left, it was cloudy again, as if it was going to rain. I secretly sighed in my heart that the mysteries of nature are really endless, and that there is such a wet and rainy oasis in the depths of the arid Qaidam Gobi.

This canyon is not like the Yadan Canyon seen in the Devil's City, it is not made by wind erosion, it seems to be a rift valley created by geological movements, the valley bottom is uneven, rocky, layered, and the rock wall seems to be carved by sharp knives. However, if you want to ask me, I agree with the fat man's statement, the terrain here does resemble a crater, and the rift valley is like a crack in the earth's crust when a meteorite falls, which may be much deeper when formed, gradually weathered and filled. There is more than one such canyon, around this crater.

The canyon is very wide, and when we enter the dense wood, it becomes very hot and makes people sweat. The stones and trees were covered with moss, and our feet were so wet with mud and tangled roots that we couldn't stand up at all, and we could only walk step by step in the tentacle of the beast's root web, and the canopy above us was so dense that we couldn't see the sun at all. I suddenly had a very serious hallucination: am I really on the Tibetan plateau, not in the Amazon jungle? ”

Since this area is fictional by the author, I can't find a similar element in reality, after all, deserts and waterholes covered by dense forests do not coexist in reality.

Before using AI, I looked for similar scenarios in real life. First of all, I think that this area must have been greenish when he appeared as a dense marsh:

But I think the scene described by the author is darker and more saturated than the real one, and there will also be some related buildings or sculptures to add to his horror atmosphere, so I extracted some keywords from my imagination to make the AI

Paintings, find some inspiration for yourself:

In the end, I drew what I imagined:

The second time I used AI was when the protagonist group entered the palace of the Queen Mother of the West, first of all, because I entered the underground tombs, I definitely haven't seen them, so I first looked for the appearance of the tombs in reality, but most of the tombs in reality are very short, and they are not as grand as the entire underground palace described in the novel:

And the real West Queen Mother Palace is not as terrible and dim as described in the novel (in the novel, the characters of the Queen Mother of the West have changed, so it is different from reality):

So I searched for relevant information, and combined it with the scenes in the TV series:

Let's draw the main seat of the Queen Mother of the West first:

I used AI to expand the whole scene:

(AI, Keywords: Dungeon, Tomb, Dimm, Cool Tone)

In the process of using AI, I can find that using AI can add more options to my graphics, but it also limits my imagination. Therefore, I think that I need to do more research before using AI in the future, so that AI can only become an auxiliary tool, and I can't let it dictate my thoughts.
