The West Queen Mother is an important mythological figure in ancient China. In the record of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the West Queen Mother is one of the most complex themes in ancient Chinese mythology. There are many theories about her origin, which are recorded in the Book of Mountains and Seas, the Record of the Grand Historian, the Book of Han, the Book of the Later Han and the Book of Huainan Zi.

1. In the Classic of Mountains and Seas, there is a god named Queen Mother of the West. Living in the far west, west of Yushan or north of Kunlun, the West Queen Mother is a half-human, half-animal creature with a leopard tail, tiger teeth, and a jade "victory card" in her tangled hair.

2. According to Huainan Zi, the mother of the West King gave Yi a potion of fairy medicine, but Yi's wife Chang 'e stole it and fled to the moon.

3. "Ancient and Modern book integration" Pingliang House historical records: "Uighur Zhongshan, in the west three Li, pulse from Kunlun, on the Queen Mother Palace, under Jingshui, there are palace mountains. King Mu of Zhou and Emperor Wudi of Han tasted it here."

The image of the Queen Mother of the West has undergone a process of change from "tiger teeth" and "leopard tail" to half-human and half-animal, then to an old woman, and finally to a beauty: the deity of the Queen Mother of the West, from the original fierce god dealing with plague and punishment, to the force of eternal life, and then to the savior of salvation and protection, the first female deity.

Morality:

First of all, she is a symbol of longevity, representing health, prosperity, wisdom and many other good things.

Secondly, she is the creation goddess of all things and the goddess of Yin qi cultivation.

In addition, the West Queen Mother is also regarded as the goddess in charge of the heavenly palace and the blessings of the earth, giving people long life, health and happiness.

Current statements include:

1. The West Queen Mother is the goddess of the moon.

2. The West Queen Mother is the mountain god who rules the Kunlun Mountains.

3. From the God of plague and torture, to the God of luck, to the head of the celestial goddess who holds the elixir of life, to the goddess of Creation who fertilizes all things.

However, in Nan Pai SAN Shu's novels, the West Queen Mother and the West Queen Mother country are not particularly romantic and beautiful. The West Queen Mother in the novel, using dead turtles to do many experiments, want to achieve the purpose of immortality, and King Mu of Zhou together. This is very different from the "Queen Mother of the West" in the movies and TV series we usually watch (the TV series set on the Chinese fairy warrior usually has the important role of the Queen Mother of the West, and generally portrays a beautiful, kind and full of humanity image).
