Design process

As for the description of Medog County in Tibet, an important part of the book, I drew some scenes based on research.

"There is only one Medog County, and Medog County owns the whole world."

On the way to Medog County, near the Galongla Tunnel on the road is still covered with snow and white. But when you cross the Galongla Mountain, the green is full, and it is a completely different world. The vegetation is abundant and the river is rushing.

Above is the description in the book, first I extract the key words: to Medog County first pass the iceberg, and then see the river, then I can combine the two, and then observe the traditional Tibetan architecture: prayer flags.

Photos of Tibet

Photo of prayer flags

Tibet, the place with the most sunshine and faith, a large number of Tibetans have gathered here for generations, and the architecture, religion and culture are deeply influenced by Tibetan culture. Prayer flags: According to the legend, the Buddha was sitting under the Bodhi tree, holding the sutra with his eyes closed and thinking, when a strong wind came and blew away the sutra in the Buddha's hand.

They broke into thousands of pieces under the action of the wind, and were carried around the world by the wind to the hands of the toiling people who were suffering. Those who get fragments of Buddha's scriptures are happy. In order to thank the Buddha's gift, people made a triangle with colored cloth, printed on the scriptures and Buddha's image, and hung it in the place where the wind blows, in order to eliminate disasters and pray for peace.

Therefore, in the Tibetan areas of various mountain and river crossings, temples, people's houses, can be seen printed with scripture patterns into a string of small flags tied on the rope, the meaning of hanging prayer flags: the wind dance prayer flags fluttering, is chanting once, constantly convey people's wishes to God, pray for good luck Longchang, eliminate disasters.

Based on these data and photos, I drew:

Next, I searched for the information of Tibetan architecture and enriched the sketch of last week

Tibetan characteristic architecture: White Pagoda

White Pagoda means tower of wisdom. It is derived from the mantle stupa also known as Lamas. It is called white tower because it is daubed with white ash. It is one of the places of Tibetan Buddhist practice and worship, and can hold the relics of sages, the ashes or remains of living Buddhas. It can also put grains and miscellaneous grains, as well as sacred scriptures and other things, which is a deeper meaning and symbol, and a symbol and blessing of Buddhist spiritual purification.
The white pagoda has been built by temples, but also by villagers themselves. White towers are usually built where Tibetans gather. Tibetans often turn sutras around the White Pagoda to pray for divine protection and protection. The White Pagoda in Tibet symbolizes longevity and protection of the people, indicating that the Dharma shines like the sun and moon, shining on the earth forever.
