Design process(make model)

PROCESS This week, I focused on shaping the details of the tomb chamber part. First of all, I added some lamp posts around the coffin. I placed lanterns at fixed intervals, and the primary purpose was to guide the players' line of sight. However, the arrangement of the lamp posts was also investigated. I combined the arrangement of the lamp posts with the 28 constellations: This idea came from watching the TV series "The Lost Tomb:" I thought of "The Lost Cave of Longling". It is also an excellent TV drama with the theme of tomb raiding. (Because I have always been very interested in Chinese history and metaphysics, apart from "The Lost Tomb", I also like to watch other TV dramas and books of this kind in my daily life.) In this drama, the protagonist, after descending from the tomb, enters a dead end. It is by reasoning about the laws of the 28 constellations that he finds the gateway to life and escapes. I thought that I myself wanted to use the me...

PROCESS This week, I started modeling the interior of the Queen Mother of the West Palace. At that time, when I was drawing the concept drawing, I only focused on the position of the Queen Mother of the West's throne. I thought the research was not clear enough, and the passage before entering the main tomb chamber was not added either. So before starting the modeling, I watched the depiction of the entire tomb passage in the TV drama again and sorted out the entire relationship. I'll describe it again in words. I've sorted out all the processes of this entire area, from the very beginning of the Devil's City, which is the desert, to entering the water pool area after passing through the sunken ship. Based on the murals on the ruins beside the water pool area as a clue, the main characters fell underwater, passed through the underground passage, found a hole, jumpe...

PROCESS This week, I was still modifying the model of the entrance of the Queen Mother of the West's palace. First, I added some details to make the entire picture look more messy and dilapidated: I always feel that there is something wrong with the shaping of this environment. It seems that everything is too obvious, lacking a sense of depth and space. So I added some fog effects and changed the atmospheric environment: During the process of adjusting the environment, I also continued to add some details such as fallen leaves and branches. When adjusting the color, I considered following the tone of the 2D concept painting, but ultimately I still believed that it was necessary to pay more attention to rationality and not be too disconnected from the previous scene. So I kept adjusting. Finally, after a long process of color adjustment, the presented picture was like this:

PROCESS The following is the modeling of this scene:                                 During the modeling process, I found that this position has some similarities with the previous one, so the main part is intended to be shaped inside the palace of the Queen Mother of the West.    I have changed the color tone of this area many times because the front part is a bit green, but my concept drawing is a bit red. I didn't pay attention to this part when I was drawing, so I still need to change it later.

PROCESS This week, I first enriched the modeling details: Because I have been looking at this scene all the time and feel a bit tired of it, I don't know how to better highlight the dark and damp atmosphere. So I asked my director friend. She told me, "From a photography perspective, I will pay more attention to the foreground. I will look at the whole from the foreground and construct a shot with the front being real and the back being virtual." I made some adjustments after listening to her suggestions. Then I adjusted the overall tone again, and finally presented such a picture:

PROCESS The next special landform is the water pools in the desert. It is unlikely that thick water pools will suddenly appear in the desert, but there are still some oases in the desert. I think the design must also follow certain patterns, so I enter from this aspect to find the parts that can inspire me. First of all, I conducted a survey on the existing relevant landforms in China: Kuche Grand Canyon and the Ruins of Subashi Buddhist Temple (Aksu, Xinjiang) 1. Geomorphic features: The Kuche Grand Canyon (Kizilya Grand Canyon) is a typical red sandstone canyon, composed of conglomerate and sandstone from the Cretaceous to the Neogene. The reddish-brown rock walls inside the canyon have been eroded by wind to form a layered and folded texture. At the bottom of the canyon, there is an oasis belt nourished by the Kuche River, where drought-resistant plants such as red willows and poplar trees grow. The ruins of Subashi Buddhist Temple are located on both banks of the Kuche River. The e...

PROCESS During the holiday

PROCESS During the holiday, I I sorted out the work of this semester, and made a link to the missing video in the process, and I can click on youtube to watch: The modeling of the first area mainly consists of three parts: 1. This is the link to the external 3D model of the snow-capped mountain: https://youtu.be/yis2eu9l55w?si=lllfMosXRHoSQzQv   2.  This is a 3D model video link of entering the interior of the snow-capped mountain and seeing the Zhangjia Ancient Building area: https://youtu.be/YxBQWoytWHo?si=gMOop7xRKVbWVgdQ 3. This is the 3D model video link of reaching the exit through the level: https://youtu.be/QFyb3sATWpE?si=R7tMISw1YhHtDA-n The second area part:  1. This is the 3D model video link of the sunken ship area in the Yadan landform: https://youtu.be/nvf8xc_dxkk?si=BNOtXASzu4phCqil (In this video, I adjusted the atmospheres formed by different lighting for editing because it is outdoors.)  SOME DETAILS   1.
